You can strategize with your team and build your load-outs collaboratively to prepare for the challenge ahead.

is an unmistakably tactical game. Even when outfitted with airstrikes, EMPs, and automated weapons systems, each player can still only carry a very limited amount of ammo, which is discarded if you reload early, a dash of realism that most shooters simply smooth over. The planets themselves are hostile environments, with rolling fog and snowstorms that make navigation difficult, and that’s not even counting the fact that they’re crawling with enemies.

These, along with individual mission completions, net you special Warbond medals that you can use to unlock new equipment, gear, and cosmetics from a Warbond — a series of 10 tiered pages full of unlocks to progress through. Note that as long as you spend enough medals in total, you can start unlocking items from later pages without getting every single unlock from previous ones.

Look for secondary objectives, outposts, and bases. These aren't always obvious, but each map will have a set of additional activities you can complete. They can range from destroying bases to reloading weapons and disrupting signals.

An expansive map also means more potential areas for enemies to be lurking. You’ll need to strategize on missions and work toward objectives together, as venturing out on your own could be detrimental.

Plus, you get to see the hideous bug creatures and murder-loving automatons closer than ever before, which is a nice bonus – each faction had lots of variety too, from chainsaw-armed androids who slowly closed in Helldivers 2 Gameplay for the kill to heavily-armored beetles who charged at me with reckless abandon.

The good news, though, is that it's also on Windows PC via Steam, so you can enjoy the shooter that way if you've got a capable gaming rig.

When selecting stratagems, it’ll be essential to coordinate with your team to select the best possible load-outs for the enemies and mission type. If you’re going up against armored enemies, like the Terminid Charger, you or a squadmate can equip armor-piercing weapons, like the AT-48 Recoilless Rifle or the AC-8 Autocannon, which feature a teammate-assisted reload to keep battles even more chaotic.

Helldivers 2 is a great co-op third person shooter that feels awesome, but is ultimately a grind-fest and does its best to hide the "pay to have fun quicker" model it has in place. The slow progression (unless you pay money) has made me lose interest in this very quickly, with little to pelo motivation to continue playing the same missions on the same difficulty for tens of hours until I can afford the right weapons to proceed. Positives: - Excellent gunplay. The combat "feels" great

With a squad of 4, you can optimize your group’s loadouts as well as giving each other designated roles for what weapons and equipment to use for each mission. It’s a game that’s definitely worthy of your time and money, as I think this game is for everyone to enjoy. So what are you waiting for? It’s time to join the Helldivers and become a hero.
